WALLZIP Used at the Southern Bypass of Warsaw Construction Site

The southern Warsaw bypass (S2) is the road which is being built from Puławska hub to Lubelska hub. The road will be 18.5 km long and will be commissioned in H2 2020.

The investment was divided into three stages.

Stage A: from Puławska hub to Przyczółkowska hub, 4.6 km;

Stage B: from Przyczółkowska hub to Wał Miedzeszyński hub, 6.5 km;

Stage C: from Wał Miedzeszyński hub to Lubelska hub, 7.5 km. The contractor of the last stage is Warbud S.A. copartnership, which once again used TLC’s WALLZIP diaphragm wall system. The system advantages were also recognized by other company’s clients.

Main features of WALLZIP TLC:

  • Complete identity of all elements allows for easy assembly,
  • Replaceable bolts allows for replacement if overused
  • Ergonomic seal groove prevents from sliding out the seal,
  • Possibility of creating second seal groove if required,
  • The first and middle elements are made of 25mm thick highly wear-resistant steel sheet,
  • The strapping end is cut at 40 degrees angle which allows for easy placement at the bottom of the excavation,
  • The highest quality system produced in certified production plant,
  • Three basic lengths and five widths. There is a possibility of producing sizes according to client’s needs.

Key advantages of the TLC’s WALLZIP system:

  • can be used in a direct neighbourhood, even 30cm from the nearest building,
  • shorter execution time,
  • Optimization of the investment costs thanks to one construction being a target element of the building and excavation wall protection at the same time,
  • tightness and high carrying capacity of the vertical case,
  • possibility to execute walls deep under the ground level,
  • small arduousness for the surrounding (low noise and no vibration during work).
